Reliability for an LS Vtec?

Hey, I just recently sold my prelude and am looking to getting a GSR integra or getting an LS and doing an LS Vtec. I heard that LS Vtec motors Are unreliable. And how much faster is an LS Vtec than an GSR? Very noticeable or, barely?
