Default Release Fork Spring Question????Pics Inside

Okay, i bought this tranny from someone else and i've never seen a release fork spring. This is the spring in the first pic. followed by the release fork then release bearing.

Now look at this pic, with the spring and fork mocked up with the bearing.

Question: Are the ends of the springs supposed to go far enough into the slots on the release bearing so that it keeps the release fork from falling off?
I can't tell whether of not the ends of the springs are possibly broken or what. But it looks as if the ends should go into the groove on the release fork. Im having trouble reinstalling this back into the tranny. Any info appreciated.

the spring doesn't look broken, its only supposed to hook into the release bearing and hold it back against the fork, so it should be good, but I have also seen slight differences in release bearings too, can't remember exactly its been six months since I pulled a tranny, but I do remember they had different holes where the spring connected, but your spring seems fine

thanks, i guess i'll keep trying then.
the problem i get is that when i try to slide the release shaft into the rounded area of the spring and fork, the ends of the spring pop out of that little slots on the bearing.. . really frustrating.

maybe this might be a better explanation.

If anything, i'll just go to the dealer tomorrow and ask to see a spring and compare mine.
