Default Redoing a LS/Vtec

I'm redoing an LS/Vtec motor that i bought real cheap. It is a 96 GSR head with a 92 GS bottom.Any suggestion to get the most out of it and parts to use.

Sounds like you have a GSR P72 head and a B18a LS block. First is how much do want to spend? You can spend up to $3500 for parts and labor to build a really good motor. Rods, pistons, sleeves, and port/polish head cams e.t.c... Depends on your application all motor or forced induction. If you just want an all motor set up just p/p head and get cams about $1500. You will have the low end torque of the LS block and the hi-rev horsepower of the vtec head. You might even want to get higher compression pistons=more$. It just depends on what you want to spend, but the bottom line is get it done by a reputable builder.

if you want something that will add reliabiltity you can have the cylinders bored 0.5mm and use those ITR overbore pistons. This way you get a nice to piston seal, a little more displacement and (if applicable). And if your in there anyways, you may as well replace the bearings on the main caps and the connecting rods...all in all your looking at about 120 for the bearing, 250 for the pistons/rings, and maybe 100 for the bore job. And maybe replace the oil and water pump. try a CRV oil pump, I hear it's the same as an ITR. Have a shop put it together if you don't want to mess with piston rings and stuff. The you got a bottom end that should be good for a while....trully the hardest part to fix once it's all in.
