watch out though because stock tachs tend to be pretty unaccurate. when i first got my car i would shift at exactly 8100 and i would fall out of the secondaries on the 1-2 shift. after some more runs it turns out i "redline" close to 8400 on the stock tach..

right on. stock tach isn't the most accurate thing out there, just like the speedo

no no no, just the specs of each cam lobe, but that wont work since i just found out the 3.0 cl is sohc; i did find out that the cams off of the 03+ 3.2 cl-s will work in the 3.0 cl, so that should save me a lot of cash. yeah, the 3.0 cl has a 5500 redline ; thats just sad. im gonna see if i can up that to 7k; nothing too extreme, but enough to get me 300 hp and be very streetable after everything is said and done.

i see you met mr. displacement and mr. torque. i have a few people saying that upping the cr from 9.4:1 to 11:1, putting in more aggressive cams, evening out the af ratio, and raising the redline from 5500 rpm to 7000 rpm will only yield a 35 to 50 total hp increase; but thats seeming like some bs to me. does drastic changes like that to a 3.0 liter engine producing minimal gains such as those seem correct? im thinking theyre stuck in their small displacement world (3 liters, big displacement; whooda thunk it?).

Are you getting a 97 3.0 cl? A co-worker of mine has one of them, and we've looked for aftermarket parts...be forewarned..there are none except an obx header and comptech header. Are you 100% sure that the cl-s cam will drop right in?

most parts that fit the 98-02 accord v6 (same engine ) fit the 97-99 cl. tsudo makes an exhaust thats like an apexi n1, but it is a dual exhaust with 3.5" outlets on the mufflers; very nice. im never 100% sure about anything, but the fellers on http://www.acura-cl.com say so and im taking a wild guess that they know about the acura cl . you dont know what looking for aftermarket parts is like until you look for parts for a 98 mercury mystique

a cl-s is at least an 00. my friends offering his 3.0 cl premium for $2500 to me, which is a great price considering its worth about twice that much. i also want something different (that is the plague of my family; we struggle to keep a single car for just a year), and the cl 3.0 has somethings that my teg will NEVER have: torque and luxury. if youre so concerned about my teg, why dont you give her a good home ? just got pics of her and you can find her in my sig.
