I replace mine once a year...just for the hell of it. I always use the blue NGK wires. I'm sorry I don't know how often you're supposed to do it according to manufacturers suggestions though.
how do u check for that?
just pull it and plug it back in? and see if its a snug fit?
i dont know, but i just bough an OEM one to replace my focuz 9.5mm wires.

To check wire resistance, use an ohmmeter. As long as the resistance is less than 10,000 ohm per foot, the wire is still good. My wires are original and their resistance is still way less the 10,000 ohm per foot.
I think i am going to get new plugs and wires though. Where do i get NGK blue spark plug wires from? Thanks

There is no need to replace the wires that often.. Thats just kind of a waste of money...

A huge waste of money, the multimeter is your friend, use it. The only reason I'd change my wires when they got dirty is if I was a rice boy who liked the color of my wires more than the function of them and I was too lazy to clean the old ones.
