First the v-afc from apex is junk your wasting your money especially if you want to ever charge your car. Go with a hondata or an apex ecu upgrade although I recommend the hondata. Secondly with the header I recommend either the comptech 4-2-1 SS very good for mid range and I've heard nothing but good things about it. But the header I have is a dc sports 4-1 USDM type r header. And I love it. It kicks in and starts making power around 4000 rpm. I chose this header because when ever I race I never drop below 5500. For the launching part simply get a set of falken Azenis tires so you can launch at 4000 and experience no traction breaking, put them on your stock rims and buy an after market set saving your stocks for racing purposes. And instead of getting those cams pick up an itr transmission. Equipped with the limited slip plus gearing set up for the itr and the hondata moving your rev limiter up you'll have no problem reving to 8500, but I wouldn't recommend any higher.

To GS-Right, he stated his plans. "if you ever charge your car..." etc etc..

Anyways, you have an excellent plan going, whatever you get, get a header with a 2.5" collector. For inexpensive great gains go with the JDM DC 4-1, I love my OEM JDM 4-1, Spoon's Headers kill mid, etc, etc.

slightly OT, but is there any difference between the DC JDM and the OE JDM ITR header (gains not looks)?

Comptech, JG, DC, ITR, just don't go cheap. You get what you pay for.

what about the dc 4-2-1 header?
thats better to improve low end torque and mid power... since he has a gsr, most of the power will be gained at high rpms so why not just go all out... and get teh 4-1 which improves mide to high end
