How much do you think will it cost to rebuild my 96 gsr engine? The mileage on that car is 1800000+. I want to rebuild the motor so it has no mileage on it so that it will run better like new.

 

I will look into my magical hat and guess what the labour charge of the shop you're going to go to is. Then I'm going to guess how far into the rebuild you're going to go... and say..... 3432.56 or somewhere close to 5k.

I had my 96 GSR rebuilt for $1400. I took the motor out and put it back in the car. Re-used all he stock internals I had, and replaced everything like belts/pumps/rings/gaskets, etc. Also had a performance valve-job done while I was at it. Has a problem with oil leaking from the oil pan, but I just re-torqued the bolts and it was fine. Took them 3 weeks tho...
