Sleeving an engine is where they take a hallowed out cylinder of metal that is stronger that wat the block is made out of and put it place of the old cylinder wall. THis allows you to have a lighter aluminum block witht he strenght of a cast iron block. Most aluminum block come with sleeves but they are cheap and only ment to perform under stock conditions. Sleeving a block is absolutaly nessasary for high hp nubmer or boosting and engine.

knife edging a crank is preaty much just lightening the crank, it also reduces drag because now insdead of slaping the oil in in pan it cuts through it and keeps weight away for the ppower reducing stress on your rods a nd pistons. It preaty much is something to do if your going to build your engine not suggested for stock or mild mods.
