Default Random missfire or bogging

First off, hello all, i haven't been her for a while. lol. I used to have an EG8 w/ a b18b in it, and now i have a teggy! lol

but......

When i drive the car randomly missfires or boggs out, not enough to die on me but enough to where if i wasnt reving high the car would probably die, it seems to happen when the car is under load, and you can hear it missfire in the exhaust. Occasionally if i step on it, not even gun it but just give it more gas than usual, it boggs out and dies.

So the first thing i checked was my wired and plugs thinking that maybe there loose or something, well i unplugged the first one and the hole was full of oil, so i replaced the VC gasket spark plugs and wires, it ran great for all of ten minutes then started bogging again :-(

So i though maybe my filter is just full of poop, so i replaced that, and sure enough the filter was full of poop haha, but it still bogged, so i replaced the injectors and cleaned out my intake manifold.

After that the car ran fantastic for about 2 days, then started to bog, yet again.

So i replaced the fuel pump and checked the main relay, cuz it wouldnt start for me for like an hour

Then i thought maybe its the top map sensor (im a noob, idk what its called, the sensor on top of the Intake mani, the very top) so i unplugged it and YES!!! it runs great, but only when its unplugged. so i replaced that too, and now it still bog's, what else could it be?

I've spent alot on trying to fix this problem by myself lol. so any help would be appreciated dudes, thanks in advance

Did you replace the wires after you fixed the valve cover gasket? The reason the car was bogging is because the oil is creating a barrier between the wire and the plug which does not allow it to fire properly. I would guess that by now it is to the point where you might as well buy a new set of wires as your old ones are probably soaked to the point that even drying them will not help. Good luck!

it's been hinting at already

the wires are often the cause of this situation. replace in order till you find your problem

1. plugs
2. wires
3. cap & rotor

really really good chance it's one of those. the situation described by the OP is classic of a failing wire though. oh yes, replace that valve cover gasket ! this will keep you from oiling more plugs
