Default Random loss of engine power! HELP!

1997 Acura Integra LS, 5 speed, 171k miles.
-new fuel filter, fuel system cleaner (BG)
-plugs(oem),wires(NGK),cap, and rotor
-timing belt, water pump, and tensioner done at 160k when i got it
-TB and IACV removed and cleaned 8/14/13
-many new maintenance items replaced

When i am starting off from a stop, i have had an issue where the car begins to jerk a bit and then the rpm's slowly drop, the engine loses all power but the car never stalls. All other electronics remain working and if i give it extra throttle when its having this episode it snaps right out of it and jerks on down the road. I cant duplicate the scenario, but it has happened to me enough that i have gathered some data. These episodes only occur when the car is at operating temperature, low speed acceleration, and it has only happened through 1st and 2nd gears. I have tried to catch this on my scan tool but i never can duplicate it. There is no CEL so i do not know where to go and all of my sensors seem to be operating normally when i watch datastream (tps, map, prim 02, secon 02) the car runs great other than this issue and i would really like to get this solved. Please help! If i left any information out be sure to ask for it! It's late and im not in the right state of mind! Thanks in advance!!

Forgot about the obvious compression test, I did one when I first got it and I remember they were all close to the same, did not do a leak down however. I will check compression tomorrow. I didn't mean to make the first post, my computer got trigger happy and wanted to jump ahead of me.

I was going to suggest looking into the TPS, but I guess you say it is alright.
Wouldn't hurt to clean out the throttle body.

Someone I know just had a problem exactly like this, but his is worse, but exhibits the same problems yours is. He get's a code and it is saying it is the Idle Air Control Valve.
Since yours is not so bad, you should get away with just cleaning it. Maybe try to clean the sensor on it as well.
Betting it is the IACV..... or, your just not giving it enough gas so it bogs hahaha

Removed my TB and IACV last night and cleaned them both. Obviously I haven't driven it enough since then to know if its fixed or not but I know its not me since the car can be anywhere from 1.5k-3k rpm when the engine just loses power. I don't KNOW my TPS is ok, I know it is working fine 99% of the time, I haven't been able to see the datastream when the episodes occur but I would figure it would throw a CEL since it is OBD2. This problem honestly has me wanting to ditch the car..

Also, I forgot to mention I do have a very random miss at operating temp idle. It doesn't throw a code and it is so random it might be 1 time an hour or 10 times a minute but its definitely a miss and there is no CEL. I'm not sure if this issue is related but being these are my only running issues with the car I wouldn't doubt it.

Not going to get to check compression today, its pouring down rain and I don't have a garage, I can't really see it to be a mechanical issue sinces its so random but at this point I can't rule it out.

when was your last full ignition tune up ? I had something similar a while back with my gsr would randomly loose power and back fire. turned out to be the rotor why I always suggest ignition components as a possible cause in cases like this.

Rotor and cap around a month ago, plugs and wires around 2 months ago, everything was a direct oem replacement minus ngk wires. I'm really starting to lean towards a fuel issue especially after how it acted today, the way it bogs down and then cuts out. It never dies it just barelt idles and If I give it any extra gas it snaps right out of it. Sometimes when I accelerate I can feel it start to jerk and it begins to have an episode. Maybe my fuel injectors are clogging? Fuel pump? Ground connection? Clog in a line? Do these sound like possibilities to anyone else?

you could be right about the fuel pump,
when mine was on the way out it was a similar experience.

I have good fuel pressure at idle and when it runs fine but I have no idea what pressure looks like when it has an episode and I can't hear the pump to know is there anyway of testing it for an intermittent failure?

Happened again, it never bogs below 2k rpm it just feels like its running out of gas, its not a suddon miss like spark but it gradually gets worse within like 10 seconds and then the car feels like its stalled but the rpms are at 2k on the tach. PLEASE, someone has had to of had an issue like this before!

So if you are driving below 2k rpms it does not bog? And it never bogs when stopped and idling? When it has a episode, the car won't accelerate much if you gas it??

Wouldn't hurt to run a fuel system cleaner through. Just get a cheap bottle (under $10), that would clean the injectors and might fight the problem, if not, it will at least rule out the fuel possibility.

does the problem occur in neutral? if you give it gas in neutral does it bog and break up? I would try getting some flamable brake cleaner and shoot it Into the tb if its breaking up in neutral and see if it suddenly clears up

I know its not a pretty way to check for fuel starvation but it always worked when I was diagnosing old analog efi cars.

Having basically the same issue, but mine is bad under 2500rpm, have you found a solution? I know this is an old thread (I have started my own, no replies) I'm at my wits end trying to figure out the problem

fuel pumps dont last forver, i'm on number 3 or 4.
denso or walbro are best but the cheapie performance electric brand at rockauto is good in a pinch imho.
just swap it in and see what happens.

Genuine Walbro fuel pumps are a decent quality product, but there are soooo many counterfeit copies on the Interweb it is hard to KNOW that you are getting a genuine product. I would buy a Deatschwerks fuel pump from a DW dealer and you will get a pump that will last for years.

P0450, P0450 points to Evaporative Emission Control System Pressure Sensor Malfunction!

Check or try a new gas cap! and check that sensor!
