Default Rain is evil

I got stuck out in a rain storm yesterday....it was one of the most expensive sunday afternoons that i have had in a long time.

There were downpoors that flooded the streets and i have a Cold air intake = hmmm....

yea i stalled out the engine and couldnt get it started. After tracking down a tow truck that was willing to even try to get my car up on it i realized i wsa spending 150bux to have it towed home 15 miles OUCH!.....

Got the car home and im praying that its not hydro-locked.

Started to "investigate" and decided that i would start by just changing the plugs......

Dont ya know it was THAT EASY car started up and ran perfect all night long. I am aggrivated I coulda done taht in the parking lot that she was sitting in!

and yes i have a Bypass valve...its in my garage and it has been there for liek 2 weeks. Tonight i will install it.

I just figured i would share my idiot moment with everyone in the hopes that maybe someone will learn something, somehow from my mistake!

I drove in rain all the time in my '99 teg w/ AEM CAI... You just have to be smart about it and watch where you are going.

Rain is never good whether it drizzles or downpours.

first thing to do is to drain oil just in case any water got in there and check block
for any holes that hydrolock might have cause.
it will save you a lot of time.

yeah, i used to be a big recommender of CAI's. . until i heard. .. actually. . seen the result of what can happen. At this point, i know of one LS/VTEC, one B16A, and one S2000 motor that have already been blown due to hydrolock. and even worse than that. . IN CALIFORNIA!!! It doesn't matter where you live. .it doesn't even matter how often it rains. . . Every once in a while, you have to go through a big *** puddle, and there is no way around it. Maybe one of those fire hydrants were broken, maybe its raining, maybe there are problems with the sewage, but regardless. . all it takes is once. .and yoru engine is gone. . . i wanna get this

. . . but its pretty expensive so i'llprobably just end up getting a coldbox or a short ram. .

In the Mugen setup you have to take out your A/c right?
