Radiators...Difference between AT&Mt?
Hey all. I am in need of a new radiator for my 2000 ls but all the ones i see are for manual transmissions only. I happen to have an automatic. Is it true that they are different? I was told by one store that its because i have a tranny cooler. Ineed a radiator asap and i need to know if they are really different and if so, can i mod the manual one to fit my car?
Thanks
Thanks
yep, you have a tranny oil cooler built into your stock radiator so you need another auto one.
or you could get an external oil cooler for your tranny and a radiator but thats just a waste of $

Yup you need one for a auto.
I have been running on a cheap ($85) ebay all-metal radiator for about 4 years and around 75K miles. I drive a manual, but the radiator is universal, so it does have the two ports for the auto tranny fluid cooler lines. It came with a new cap also.
