RADIATOR PROBLEM PLEASE HELP
i have a 95 gsr with an 85mm sleeved b18c1 block.....started happenning yesterday....i started to smell antifreeze while i was driving but not to bad...i get out pop my hood and i notice my reserve jug is full....so instead of the radiator sucking out of the reserve its putting antifreeze into the reserve...anyone know what it could be? the car is not overheating or anyhting. i heard it could be the radiator cap and also my friend had the same problem but it was his thermostat but like i said its not overheating any help will be greatly appreciated! thanks...

strong possiblity. how is the seal on the cap? when it gets hot does steam come out of the top of the radiator?
is the radiator hose going to the thermostat hard or soft?

also another possibility.
you could have a cracked headgasket where your getting the engines compression in the cooling system.
a way to tell is of course the milky stuff under the oil cap, or when you first start your car after letting it sit, does it hesitate and bog? if so that means the coolant, when left to settle is flowing into the combustion chamber and making your car hesitate due to water/coolant being in the chamber.

car runs perfect...dynoed it and tuned it and it was perfect 13 all the way accross and no hesitation.....changed the cap...didnt notice any milky stuff...checked my oil still looks new (light brown) antifreeze is still green...havent checked thermostat or anything though...i might have a leak somewhere but if its a leak then it only leaks while im driving...sometimes when i park it ill have about 5 spots of antifreeze, but would a leak cause it to go back into the reservoir? im gonna change my thermostat this weekend and see if that fixes it.
having the thermostat be opened shouldn't make antifreeze be all over the ground. check around where the head meets the block. i'd also guess headgasket. if theres no bogging and the cap isn't the problem, then it could be deeper. time will tell if it gets worse, or will tell if you fix it. proper torqueing of the head bolts, among a dozen other things, are very important when assembling the motor. if there is coolant in many spots, it sounds like somehow it's dripping around different parts of the motor. that either means a line is throwing coolant somewhere, or its coming from where the head meets the block.
if it's a coolant line, if you don't visually see it drip while the car's running (check!), then this is why:
when the line is heated up to a point, the pressure in the lines will sometimes tense them to where if there is a crack or small fissure, it is tightened closed. while the car cools and the coolant cools, there may be some point where the actual pressure from the water pump is null, but the water is still hot enough to have its own lesser pressure, and actually find its way out of the crack or fissure in the line until it cools sufficiently. this may be a small or large window of time.
it's important for you to see if it leaks. determining where is a matter of inspection. find out. dry every place around where your head meets your block very well, start the car, let it sit and run for 15 minutes, then turn it off.
watch the whole time. you'll find something.

Go check these things and change it already. It could be a number of things and the way it looks you're not really checking anything. Your reassurance is in checking them or replacing some of the items.

you might want to try bleeding your coolant system I got the same problem after I turbo'd my car and my radiator cracked and I put another stock one in and then my resevoir tank started filling up, but I have to wait till friday cause I orderd a fluidyne radiator and spoon thermostate and switch before this happend but Ive been told that i probley have air in the line
so maybe if yours is leaking a couple of drops its letting air get in your system so maybe you need to bleed yours also
