Default quick release steering wheel with a lock.

i don't have that much experience with quick release steering wheels and locks but i was thinking, if one were to have this set up wouldn't be virtually impossible for thieves to steel someones car? (well without towing it obviously)

could they pry off the lock or something and attach their own steering wheel?

I've heard the NRG hub lock key's are all universal to one another.. Is there any truth to this?

lol damn doing some extensive research on quick releases. I had one that a friend of mine had it was missing the keys and he had already replaced the whole unit, anyways to say the least they are really tough mech. They deter thieves and look descent doing it. I tell you if I was a thief and I saw a car with a full locking unit, I wouldn't bother, but then again if someone wants something bad enough they are going to get it no matter what, so locking detachable unit plus a good alarm system is the way to go. *** thieves

I was asking myself the same thing about the hub lock. My friend said there was a video of a guy trying to pry/smash/break it open, but he had no luck.

I was talking to a buddy at a shop and said if u try and drill out the key hole on the lock the assembly falls apart and u can't take the unit off. Kinda like safe's do, but don't quote me on that

Yes its possible with some modding. There was a thread DIY a few months back. IIRC it was only the non srs wheel.

i just purchased a momo wheel/qr/hub

so i'm buying this
http://passwordjdm.com/Works-Bell-St...1912C1681.aspx

just the fact that the rumor about NRG keys being universal exists, i dont even want to risk it...
i've heard nothing but good things about works bell
