Like the title says..i searched, but all i could find was instructions to cut a black and white wire and that was for eg's.

i have a 99 gsr and i see no black and white wire, only 4 solid colored ones.

Good question. I always thought it was dumb to dim when the lights were on.

i think the clock has stuff written on it, in the plastic, telling you which wire is which. ill try and look on mine, getting rid of that dimmer is something ive been meaning to do anyway

n/m, i'm tripping ..i do have a red and black wire, the black stripe is very thin and i didn't see it.

but yeah, if you guys want to do it, it only takes about a minute to pry out the clock and clip that red wire. thanks for the help .

yes..well the wire looks like its solid red, but if you look close, there's a very thin black stripe going down the side of it.

when it's dark out, go turn on your car, but leave the headlights off. look at the clock. clipping the wire just causes the clock not to dim when you turn on your headlights.

also if you've got some red or amber film laying around, you should do the diy amber clock. only takes a few more minutes to take it apart and put it back together, and looks 100x better .

Re: (Kamikaze)
like was already posted, go outside at night and turn the car on but leave the headlights off, that's what it looks like when it's done.

Is there a way you can make it so when your parking lights are on it doesnt dim, but when your head lights are on it does? cool trick, but like PatrickGSR94 said, it's too bright at night.

I'm trying to do it so i can still read the clock in the day when i have my lights on.

The dimmer wire for the clock comes off of the #19 10A fuse under the dash. If you clipped the wire behind the clock and then ran another wire from the clock to one of the headlight fuses (#21 or #22) that MIGHT work, but I don't know for sure.

huh? the cluster lights aren't even on in the first place unless the parking lights are on, and then it only dims if you turn the dimmer ****.

so, to keep it from dimming, don't turn the dimmer ****.
