Default Quick Question LSvtec?

If I go Lsvtec, will I have problems getting the car smogged? And whicht is a better vtec head? SI head or GSR head? Thanks in advance.

in Cali, they do a visual inspection. they will see the dohc vtec on the valve cover when on the computer it says dohc non-vtec. so unless you go to a really unstricked or stupid smog tech. then you may pass. Another thing you can do is get a aftermarket valve cover that dose not say vtec. or shave the vtec of the oem valve cover.

not if the only purpose is to pass a smog test

you should just hide it, you shoudl use your current valve cover on your new head if it fits... i dont know if it will or not, but that would be the best solution

Between the heads, it depends... if you plan on upgrading your cams, go with b16 head, it flows better, but if not, the GSR head has more aggressive cams..

essentially, stock, there gonna make about the same numbers

I'm pretty sure the LS valve cover will not fit a vtec head. Like the kid said before, just do LS/Vtec because yes, it's ridiculous, but get a clean vtec valve cover, and shave it down smooth so they cannot see VTEC on it. You should be able to pass it that way. and dont put the spark plug cover on, just incase That's just what I think. I dont live in Cali, they could care less here in wisconsin.
