b18a1 is the very lowest rank and b18c1 aka type r is the top dog. but like sideways says the entire motor from valve cover to oil pan.

Lol!

B18a1 : non vtec 1834cc (somethin around that) dohc. Making about 140 hp. Aka ls

B18c1 vtec 1789cc (again not exactly sure) dohc making about 180hp. Aka the gsr

The gsr has vtec.. Variable valve timing and electronic lift control. it has a low and high profile cam, where ls only has primary lobes. Research my friend.

dude its a never ending thing with humanity. what you have is never enough i bet if i had 1000 hp id want to find a way to get more. you dont really need a whole lot of money if you have alot of time. if you have an ls run an ad in your local honda website and see if anyone has any spare heads laying around buy a dremel and practice porting and polishing on that once you got it down fairly good do it to yours and youll be amazed at the difference. sorry for the run on. just need a little ingenuity.

b18b1 is the newer model of the ls and puts out 140hp b18a1 is older model ls and puts out 130 i belive b18c1 is a gsr and puts out 180 and b18c5 is type r and puts out 190 and lsvtec is mans creation of taking a vtec head and putting it on a non vtec block such as a b1 block with a c1 head. all the hp figures are based on a good running engine.

depends on if a guy knows what they are after. drag racing can get HP addictive. going after a balanced car is another story. this stuff usually comes down to cash and the real deal comes when you spend it. there are a lota broke folk in the honda crowd. some of the parts i have forsale have all sorts of interest. so far none of the big items have brought me cash.

Yes B18C1 is a GSR motor, and no B18B1 is also an LS motor from Integra 94-01.
LS/VTEC is a vtec head mated on a non vtec block.
