I drive a 90 ls...and was just wondering....about how many miles can i drive after the fuel light comes on...just wondering because i wanna see if i am getting the correct mpg

It's going to be different depending on hills, speeds, auto, standard, etc.

Why don't you get a gas jug, and take note of your mileage when the light comes on, and when your car dies from lack of fuel. Then you'll have your answer. Put some gas in it with the cherry can you brought, and then you'll know.

It's really simple.

well for my car, i actually let the light come on steady last week. because sometimes. it'll come on and off around the low depending on hills and what not. but yeah back to the story, after the light was on steady i went to fill up and filled up a little more than 11 gallons, so da's have a gas tank that'll fit 14 gallons, so i'm guessing you have around 3 gallons when the light comes on.

 

my 96 goes a good ways, usually run 30-40 miles easy once light comes on steady. bringing a gas can and running it dry is the best way to get an idea how far you can go
