does the 98 gsr have a trunk latch under the dash?.....also any1 know where to get a center console for a gsr in the light brown color

 

No, but if your doors are unlocked, there is a little switch in the groove that you put your hand in to open the hatch on the driver side. I just found this out the other day and realized that is was broken.

Look at your car from the outside. ?The groove/handle that you use to lift your hatch. Stick your hand in their and feel towards the drivers side, you should feel a little nub/latch. Push that latch and your hatch will open. Note this is on my 00gsr and my buddies 98gsr, but not my brothers 94rs. So this might just be a gsr thing.

i have a 00 ls and mine is in that little groove he is talking about. i just unlock the doors and push the lever/latch towards the drives said and it unlatches

 

Yeah it's a 98-01 thing not just a GSR thing.
