Default Quick Q? --Rust...

I'm looking to buy an integra (maybe even a CRX). I'm familiar with the spots hondas typically rust in and aware of the processes to go through to help stop rust, I was just curious as to how hard the rust in these pictures would be to fix? Or if I should just stay away from the car? These are around the rear wheel wells. Photos below, Thanks.

Thanks again.

What's your budget? It shouldn't be hard to find a rust-free car, unless you're looking at very inexpensive ones.

This car sits right within my budget. I have a cash limit at the moment of 3400 (will be more if I can sell my Mustang within X amount of time period), but I am not looking to spend exactly that much. Almost all of the ones I have found in my area have similar rust, some of which are already rusted through. I've been looking around for them for about 3 months now, and I have to have a car by the end of the month.

If you know of any DCs or EFs for Sale around the Tennessee area, that would help. I've been searching high and low, and I am about to give up on a car with a B series stock and pick up an EF shell for under 2 Gs and save the rest for a GSR motor, but even most of those I have found have rust in the same spots, but in worse condition. Thanks for the reply though.

anyways, thanks for the help guys!! no wonder I don't try and post here much, or do anything other than research here. posting for answers/help doesn't seem to come around much, especially when it is a simple topic such as rust. I could understand no reply assuming I was asking for directions on how to fix the rust, but I am simply asking for someone's insight on the extent of the damages due to a rust of this caliber. But apparently this isn't the place to look..who would think people who own the cars would have less experience with it than someone that hasn't owned one?!?

You can look for a DC or EF, or whatever you wanna get in the Market Place and look around, you'd be surprised on what you find, as for rust, I am not too familiar even if I did have Autobody ...

And you get many views and not so many replys because well be patient, you will get more replys, trust me...

You can't stop rust...you can only hope to contain it. Try to find a rust free car, even if you have to travel a bit. If the quarters are rusted, you gotta think that bolts and other areas under the car are also rusted, which become a pain in the *** down the road when trying to do mods and maintenance. Good luck!!!

this person speaks the truth. to the OP, why post up a question and give people not much more than a day to respond to you. that's you posted on the 7th, and it's uh... the 8th. so if you're looking for a dissertation, as they say in the R forum a lot, GTFO.

all jarring aside, with your budget of 3400, you can find a rust free integra. just don't expect to find one as quick as you expect people to answer your questions. i found a 96 gsr as my dd with MINIMAL rust for less than your budget and i snatched it up the FIRST day it was on craigslist and the seller already had people lined up after me ready to buy it from as far as 500 miles away. moral of the story, you can find what you're looking for but you have to be patient and when you find it, be prepared to ante up really fast and possibly travel to go get your treasure... this forum is not going to hand you the keys to a rust free third-gen integra for 3gs.

as far as the integra you're looking at above, i'd say it's not that bad. you get what you pay for... and for roughly 3 grand, you're going to get you an integra that gets you from point A to B. like others have said, you can slow the rusting down... by cutting the rusted portions above and welding in sheet metal or quarter panels, but that's not very cost efficient and a crap shoot unless you know how to do it yourself.

i'd say have a and suck it up whichever direction you choose to go. now i will GTFO.
