Default Quick help please, easy question!

Hey, it seems that my wheel nuts have seized and i cannot take the wheel(s) off. I was woundering if i could heat them up via butane torch, or ever a cutting torch. I doubt wd-40 will do anything, and there is a fair amount of corrision/rust. I just dont want to hurt the rims(they are blades) or anything esle. And also i dont want to snap the studs or worse yet strip the nuts...so what are my options?! and what size are the nuts exactly? i have 19mm so far...

Probably your best bet is to snap the studs off with a big breaker bar or something similar and replace them. Heat from a oxy torch would probably do the trick, but would **** up your wheels in the process.

are you trying to get them off with a 1/2" ratchet? that could be a pain. try a nice 3/4" breaker bar.

What are you using to try and remove them? Use a breaker bar and be careful.

So your saying just break them off? Heat wont work? im using a 3/4 ratchet with a cheater bar, im positive they will break before they come off. So anything i can do? both the rear tires are like that, the front are fine. Should i take it to a shop and let them break 'em?

What size ratchet do you use?

Use a 1/2" drive ratchet, get some quality ones, craftsman at the least. Put a 19mm socket, don't use an extension (it might slip off when you stand on it), buy a 2 feet pipe that will fit your ratchet, then stand on the end of the pipe, jump around. (make sure you got the right direction )

If it does not break then you're doing something wrong. You won't strip the thread, don't worry.

Get a torque wrench for tightening it properly next time and put some anti-seize on the threads.

this is actually improper use of a ratchet and can cause the ratchet to break. this is exactly why we have breaker bars. trust me, i've seen numerous ratchets break from too much force.
everybody should have a breaker bar. not only are they cheap, but they will certainly save you a LOT of strength and effort.
if you need to get something on really tight, you use a torque wrench. if you want something really tight, off, you use a breaker bar. proper use of equipment just makes things easier.

In that case get 2 ratchet just in case one broke
Yea I know you're supposed to use breaker bar, but so far my 1/2" ratchet has withstand 200+ ft-lbs from a seized axle nut, pulley bolt, etc, etc.

That's why I get all craftsman tools so just go to my neighborhood sears (10 mins drive) and replace the ratchet no questions asked.

Ya i took it to a shop and they broke most of them off, and i did infact break a ratchet before i took it to them and it was mastercraft. But ya its done know but what i dont get is that the shop took 5 HOURS to do it! Im pissed cuz they are trying to charge me for the five hours and thats like 350 bucks right there! so i bitched 'em out and said i could have done it in at least an hour, which is what they said they would do it in. Last time i take my baby to a stupid **** pile shop.
