Default QUICK HEADLIGHT QUESTION

after you remove the front bumper, and take out the headlight can you remove the lense from the headlight it self? Because im trying to clean mine because the seal broke and all inside the headlight there is water damage so im going to try and clean mine but i wasent sure if you could take the headlight appart, menaing the front lense. I just dont want to take the entire front bumper off and relize that you cant take the lense off.

You can...but you would have to heat it to take it apart and you would have to reseal the headlight to stop the condensation.

If you don't have a whole day to do it, expect down time for your car.

Post pictures they might be restorable. If they are just yellow on the outside you can lightly sand them and then wax/polish them. There's a thread about it, search for it.

if you have the time do them yourself, it's really not that hard. and it's actually pretty fun and the end result is worth the effort, plus you could do a little custom work while you're at it... i did

yea i took the front bumper off earler this afternoon and took the light off, and honestly took me about an hour to get the lense off the headlight it self. Put it in the oven at 225 for about 3 mins. I had to keep tkaing it out and trying to pry it off with a knife and a screw driver. I put it back in the oven at least 6 or 7 times. And now that i have it off and im cleaning it out completley, i have no idea how im suposed to put it back together seeing the glue/adheasive is still there and this looks like its going to be a bitchhh

Easier way would be 350 degrees for about 6-7 minutes,
and you Want the original glue/adhesive there for when you melt it back together.

Which all you do is throw it back in the over for about 4-5 minutes on the same temp,
then take them out when it seems gooey, and squeeze it all back together.

Yeah, do the heats I said, and just keep an eye on them once it gets around 5 minutes,
I've done this probably 2-3 different times on about 4 headlights, so it works fine.

No need to bake at a lower temp, and take a Lot longer just to split, or reseal them.

Is there additional glue/adhesive that I have to add to make sure there's no condensation?

Yeah, I'd do that as well... use 100% sillicone sealant to do this where needed.
