Hi guys! I have been using my DC header for like 4 years now and put in about 100K miles on it. Anyways, as of today, my dc headler seems like it is making louder noise compared to when I first installed it. My question is, do header wears about overtime? If they do, I want to replace my oem header. I have my oem header laying around in my garage for these past four years and I believe that I didn't cover it up. I am afraid that their is probably lots of dust is in there. So my next question is, is my oem header usable after all this years?

i really dont think that you have to worry about the dust in the header...its not like your engine is going to be sucking in air from your header. you might just imagining the loudness of your header, but there is a possibility of it being cracked. id check it out if were you. check the welds.

 

oh, and check your gasket... it might have gone bad and now you have an exhaust leak which in turn would result in a louder sound...

 

Thanks for the replies! I have changed the gasket where the header and the cat converter about 6 months ago. However, I have never changed the head gasket that goes between the engine and the header. Should I change that part?

About the crack on the header, I don't think i have a crack on it. it 4-2-1 header and my car is not lower. I notice that their are two dents on the bottom but I don't think it has holes or gap in it.
