Ok my gsr is blowin black at high rpms, normal oil consumption, even though oil would be blue in color. I have no idea what's causing this, but the car seems like it's lost it edge.

ok i am not a newbie, so please give me some idea what to check. Come on guys, compression is fine, only have 60,000 miles.

 

I believe black is an indication of running rich. Is the ECU throwing any codes? You might want to check the O2 sensors, perhaps replace them.

 

no codes, running a comptech ecu and the car has been fine for two years, but i use octane boost at the track and run the car hard (lapping). I was thinking o2 sensors too, but car sometimes pulls sometimes it feels like it's straining. The plugs had slight carbon deposits on them, which is what really surprises me as i am not easy on the car.

 

are u sure the oil consumption is normal, mine is getting a lot of blow by also due to high mileage and bad piston rings, it could also be ur valve seals leaking oil into the combustion chamber creating the smoke at high RPM's.......
