QUESTION
i have a 98 integra gsr. i was wondering if i were to swap my valvetrain, camshafts, pistons, rods, etc, (all the internals) with jdm type-r internals. will my gsr be faster than a type-r or about the same. will i get more out of usdm type-r or jdm type-r internals on my gsr. thanks.

One reason the JDM ITR's have more power than USDM ITR's is cause they operate under different conditions.
1) Japan has higher octane gas (I think)
2) In Japan you dont need catalytic convertors (I think)
I think that stuff might be the main reason why the JDM ITR's have more power than the USDM ITR's.
I think JDM ITR's make more power because
1)Intake manifold flows better
2)Higher Compression
3)Better fuel
4)Less restrictive ecu
5)The famous 4-1 header
6)Supposedly the JDM cams are a little more aggressive (not sure on this one)
7)Stronger intake valves to support the 9000 rpm rev limit (not sure on this one)
8)JDM Final drive
9)Recaro seats are lighter?
10)JDM Front end is cool
