Alright so here's my dilema, i've noticed that when i redline my gears i grind 1st to 2nd, and i have a really hard time dropping it in 3rd....its as if the shifter gets stuck. My friend drove my car the other day, and other than the grind from 1st to 2nd he said my 3rd is fine...For 1st to 2nd, do you think its my syncros or...? and for 3rd, you think there's a problem their or is it me just being an unexperienced stick driver (only 2nd week driving)

 

btw...its a 95 integra ls.

 

i ahd the same exact problem with my 95 integra i use to have, i believe because i was a shitty driver because i just started, after a couple months, i never grinded frmo 1st to 2nd. it was becaause i let go of the clutch before i shifted into second, you might not know it but that might be the case.

 

we all grind gears when we first start out..here's a simple test for u..let someone that has more experience in driving manual roll ur ride and see if they grind the gears. If the shift linkage is smooth, then it's def you, if not, then poss those syncros getting worn.

Practice makes perfect.... just dont destroy ur tranny... cuz that would suck. But i would advise having the other driver test... better safe than sorry.
