Problems with J's Racing ECU program
I have a p28 ECU w/ a J's racing program in myu OBD2 GSR. I plugged in the ECU and the idle is erratic, it goes anywhere from 800 to 500 and sometimes dies. While I'm driving the car bogs alot under partial throttle. What could be the problem, the actual program or the install
come on mang, I got my ECU chipped from http://www.hyperducktuning.com, its not really from j's racing, just the program
You do have the conversion harness right? I have a crazy startup idle on my chipped p72. You can just play with the idle screw on the TB to fix your idle, but make sure the car is a normal oper. temp. though. By the way, did you request for the DOHC program? You might have the SOHC proggy and thats why everything is all out of whack. I hope you have a skunk2 manifold too cause that ecu cant control the secondaries..
yup, i'm installing the manifold this weekend, i just wanted to make sure the ECU works.
Here's what I've done so far
#1 - Unplug battery, Plug in OBD1 ECU results in surging idle and car stalling out
#2 - Unplug battery, unplug EVAP (top of GSR manifold correct?), plug in ECU results in surging idle
#3 - Same as #2, but after car is warmed up I drive it around the neighborhood for about 3-4mins results in same idle same bogging while driving.
Does anybody else have ideas? Would adjusting the idle screw fix the surging idle, or woud it just move the surging idle up a couple RPM?

or hit me up on my email
that should defintaly not happen, tried different chips???
it all should work without a problem, as it was tested and and worked fine on my car.

Could somebody post a run down for switching from OBD2 to OBD1. So far I have taken that you need to
1. Unplug Battery
2. Unplug EVAP solenoid
3. Plug in ECU
4. Start up car and let it warm up from cold start
5. enjoy OBD1
I have done everything except for #5
