Problem With Skunk2 Manifold Install!!!! HELP
I am installing my manifold, but the fuel rail and injectors are not seating properly. Has anyone ever ran into a problem like this. I bought some washers, but have not tried them to see if they would work. What the problem is is that the studs that the fuel rail aren't long enough so that when I go to tighten them down they run out of thread and the rail and injectors don't seat properly. Has anyone had this problem, if so tell me how you fixed it
Do a search man. There are ALOT of threads back in the day that will probably have the info u need. I did the skunk2 install recently and did not have any probs with the fuel rail and injectors. Only thing that ticked me off was the throttle cable grazing my hood.
I had no problems with either. I used the ITR throttle cable and bracket, and I used a b16 TB, but you can just use the TB pulley off any other B series except the GSR.

Ok I used the washers and they worked perfectly fine. The injectors seat really good. The only question I have is the IAC wire connector. I had to lenghten this so it would reach. All I did was solder some wire and then taped it up real good. But when we were finished installing everything I had a check engine light. Actually three of them, but one of them was the IAC valve. Has anyone gotten this code and Do you think it's because I don't have the secondaries or the IAB hooked up anymore. The connector is just sitting there. Help if you can please

I have checked everything over atleast twice just to make sure everything was tightened. Just to make sure you guys didn't use the black box from the secondaries I think it is called the Intake Air Bypass solenoid. I tossed that since I didn't think I needed it, but now I have this code.
Well now that everything is put back together and the fuel rail is fine and all the plugs reach. I have a code 6 which is the Idle Air Control valve IAC. I don't know why this is going wrong, we have checked everything, but can't figure out why the ecu is sending the code.
make sure the skunk2 is made for your car. the reason why I ask is because I just installed one on my 98 gsr and had only one fitting problem. that was my throttle cable. i had to bend out my TB just a hair so it would clear my strut bar w/ out rubbing. Your's should bolt right on....one hell of a difference as your end result
Ha, we just figured out my car. It was one of the main wire harnesses by the shock tower, it was not getting a good enough connection. We were going through the whole helms manual and running all the test, but got frustrated cause we knew we didn't mess with any of those parts. So we decided to unplug everything and see what happens. We noticed that one of the wire connectors was not together all the way. And it just so happens that that was the problem after all. Car runs fine, no engine codes and all we need to do know is set the timing and recheck the valves since they were tapping a little. It just sucks that we forgot the timing light, but I'm happy now that I know there is nothing else wrong with my car. I guess I learned a lesson and that's to always check your connections.
