problem with fuel pressure!
well my car just started acting funny lately, i hav noticed that it has been running extremely rich, fuel pressure is at 48psi and vacuum is really low, the car also shuts off when i rev it or am driving and engage the clutch when the idle falls it shuts off...At first i thought it could have been a vacuum leak but checked all of the vacuum lines and changed the intake manifold gasket. i hav searched and searched and no simaliar result to this. when i take the vacuum line off the fpr the vacuum goes up and the car doesn't die and is drivable but fuel pressure stays at 48psi , but when i put the vacuum line back on, the car wants to die again. this leads me to believe that the fuel return line is clogged or cinked somewhere..could this be correct and if so how do i unclogg the return line...thanx for ur time
i dont know man but im having the same problem a fuel delivery tho im just not getting fuel at all to my fuel filter and i dont have a pressure gauge or regulator but i unno im about to take it to the shop so yeah hopefully i get it fixed let me know what you do if you ever figure it out
A blocked return line would cause high fuel pressure, however it doesnt happen very often. Is the FPR bad itself? Possibility that the diaphragm inside is torn.
well i had swapped out the fpr with one from an h22 knowing that it would read higher than one for a b-series but still had 48 psi, but keep coming up with ideas im dumbfounded right now....been trying to source the prob for too long
well i went out and bought a new fpr and still now change fuel pressure at 48psi, bout ready to light a match to this f****** car.....wish i had more responces to this problem. thanx

sorry to post so much but i just wanted to thank the people who tried to help and really couldnt help out guess im on my own on this one
thanx again to all that tried

well its not the fuel return line because i blew into it and air moved through it. forcefed what would u need to look at to try to diagnose the prob. hav u ever seen or heard of the prob before and what was wrong with it...... i pretty knowlagable when it comes to hondas and i just can't figure this out.

so after all this waiting and wondering wtf was wrongwith my car all i had to do was reset the ecu and the car started right up but my thoughts are why does this happen like why should i haft to do that **** when i know i shouldnt is it my ecu thats fucked up or maybe my harness

All the times i have dealt with high fuel pressure was due to pintched or blocked return line, faulty fpr, or install of aftermarket fuel pump with higher volume and flow ratings.
well i do hav a walbro 255lph fuel pump..... but this high fuel pressure just started....would this also cause low vacuum? sly fox glad u figured ur prob out
forcfed thank u for ur time and patients i really appretiate it. i am going to put the stock fuel pump back in and hope that fixes the problem.
i was running an alternator that was only running 11.9 volts at the most. when i put the new alt in its now charging at 13.9 where it should be maybe thats why the higher voltage made the pump push more.....one more question though i hav an adjustable fpr and it wont adjust would the fuel pump could this cause this as well....sorry for the 101 questions just trying to understand, i hav had this fuel pump in for a year and now finally when i get a new alternator this prob occurs....thanks again forcfed and hope maybe i can help u in the future.

Your fpr should allow you to fully adjust your fuel pressure. Although a forewarning you will want to properly compensate for the added fuel meaning that you will definitely want to have it tuned if your changing your base pressure. What kinda fpr are you using, if its the stock fpr modifier kits off ebay then you may have it installed wrong which is very common for those.
Interesting that it would occur when your alternator took a dump, you sure that it hasnt always been high and you just noticed till now... either way the increased pressure from the increased volume from the walbro is common.

i have had this setup for a year now with no problems and hav kept an eye on the pressure....till now. with the old system the only difference was the amount of volts, before with the old alternator it put out 11.9 volts at the most, now it is putting out 13.9 volts.... this is why i think the pump wasn't putting out the full amount of pressure with the 11.9 volts but now that the charging system is up to task its doing what it is supposed to do.... my fpr is a B&M. i dont use shitty parts from ebay and i know B&M is not the best but it has served me well. ur probaly wondering why my fuel demand is so high. well i have the crower 403's, p&p and other bolt-ons, and was running a 80 shot of nitrous(the reason for the adjustable, when running the nitrous i would move fuel pressure up like four psi but no higher than 38 psi) there for a while but now going for just all-motor. the farthest tuning i can use is an apexi afc because of being obd2 and emissions test in Pa suck or my car would already be running hondata. i am going to radio shack tomarrow and picking up a voltage regulator that will only put out 12 volts and connect it to the wire that supplies power to the pump and see if it fixes the prob.(cant find old fuel pump.....keep in touch though your giving me hope to resolve this prob......thanx
You will want optimum voltage supply so i wouldnt go the extent of regulating it... unless thats what you wanna do then its totally up to you. Otherwise i would say just bump down your injector duty cycle to compensate for the higher base pressure.
the fuel pump relay is ok, if it wasn't my fuel pump wouldnt run at all...since i really don't need that pump for now im going to buy a new one that is stock and hope it fixes the problem.......probably ain't the best solution to change the voltage and splice a wire. i don't wanna change the cycle duty and cover up a problem i want to try to fix the problem. thanx though
well just wanted to say that i hav fixed the prob ......it was the bigger fuel pump with more voltage goin to it i just wanted to post this just incase someone had a simalar problem and need to search mybe this would come up.......also forcefed thanx for ur time and hopefully we'll help each other in the future......
