i got a friend that sold me a pr3-2 b16 head. he tells me its a itr (jdm) from a acura type r.. wat head is it. i bought it already for 500$, i just want to know wat head it is from wat kind for b16 it

they use the same casting, have to go by year, springs, cams, bowl work...GOOGLE "b16 vs itr head" and go from there

 

500 is so over priced

you know nothing about it. what kind of shape the valves are in, what the LMA's look like, anything

yet you know it's value

 

To know for sure look at the head casting on the right side is Pr3 on the left side ther will be to numbers. These 2 numbers are the year the head was cast. For example mine is cast 90 Pr3-2. This means it is a B16 head cast in 1990. So mine is a Pr3-2 but not a Type R since there was no Type R in 1990 only the B16 in Japan. You cant trust the numbers on the head. You can tell a Type R head by the Type R dual intake and exhaust valve springs, the outers will be blue and the inners will be yellow and the Type R head has a P7P from the factory. And $500 for a good Pr3 or P72 is pretty normal. A Type R head complete with cams and in good shape is $800-900. You can find deals though I got my Pr3 head for $180 but it needed valves, springs and cams all of which I had from another head.
