So I'm in a bit of a predicament here. As I was driving, I decided to use my AC and a few minutes later my radio shut off and restarted over and over, but would restart and stay on when the AC compressor wasn't running. I believed the alternator to be bad, tested it with an analog meter that read 10.5ish volts and replaced it with one I had available to me. The replacement only read 9 volts but I had no choice but to drive it home. As I drove it, the typical symptoms of a bad alternator came up (fading indicators, clock shuts off, tach goes haywire, hesitation in acceleration) and suddenly everything worked perfectly the second I got off of the freeway. This was about a week ago, and today the same old crap happened again, only this time nothing works. I removed the alternator and took both of them to Autozone to have them tested, and surprisingly both of them passed. I'm going to clean all of the grounds and connections with a wire brush tomorrow and install one to see if it works, otherwise I'm going to have one rebuilt for me. I'm at my wits end. Does anyone have any ideas what else it could be?
Yup^ exact thing happen to me on Monday battery was gone, couldnt even charge it. The radio would turn off and everything changed the battery and the car was still acting up for about a day and a half. But its better now.
same thing happened to me but about 30 minutes after the radio and dash went nuts my car died on me so i got it towed it was one of my 02 sensors shorted out and was causing the car to shut off. or should i say a wire conected to the 02 sensor was shorting out lol
doesnt make sense at all, your o2 sensor is fused so that cant happen

I got them both tested at Autozone and they both passed. I installed one of them resulting in the same problem. It ended up being a loose ground to the negative terminal in the fuse box, but I feel this happened because I relocated my negative terminal so that I could use a different battery.
