Default Poor Man's Type R

I tried searching for some information on a poor man's type r setup and wasnt too successful. Basically i want to know besides the GSR block and B16 head, what is needed for the poor man's type r setup?

gsr block, b16 head, a chipped/tuned ecu since it'd be pointless running the p72 gsr ecu with such a low vtec engagement since you don't have the butterflies anymore.

OP:

do another search, but do not put in punctuation.

Look for "Poor mans type r" ( without the quotation marks of course ), on the right hand side of the search page, select Archived content.

Leave the "forum" section blank as well as "creator" and "list order". Select Topic Titles

Hit Next and you will get:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
» Search Results

Your search for poor mans type r returned 105 results.

The following words are too short or too common and were not included in your search: r.
</TD></TR></TABLE>

good luck

just make sure to NOT use an early obdo b16 head, they had more problems with cooling than a fiero. the passages were not made correctly. try and find a 5000 series (em1) head. same thing as the type-r head minus the hand port and polish, and cams.

i was pretty sure that i would need some kind of ecu chipping, ive gone with j-k-tuning before on my turbo d project and was pretty satisfied, I dont know if he does this kind of chip burning or not I havent contacted him yet. But besides the ecu I was looking more for info on pistons, and rods and what cams to use. Thank you naruto I will search again without the punctuation and hopefully it will give me my answers
