Hey guys, whats my best option? 1. gut the cat and leave it open, 2. make a test pipe, or 3. buy a new one. Im leaning to option 1 right now since it costs nothing and smog laws aren't that harsh here. And to gut it out, is all i need to do is cut that screen out and let the pellets out? Or is it more complicated then that?

 

Most people that gut the converters, at least in my experience, take a piece of pipe and ram it through the cat.

The price of a test pipe is not that high and many different ones can usually be found on eBay.

That's how I did mine. Gutted cats sound like wet farts tho.

 

i have a test pipe thats a direct fit for 96 gsr, its stainless with 2 o2 bungs, mint condition. $35 shipped.
