I've heard mixed reviews on them, if you spin too much on the launch it throws the time off. I would say they are accurate up to 2/10ths of a second in the quarter.

I got a cheap old version of g-tec for like 40 bucks of ebay and it was extreamly accurate, they are just kinda hard to calibrate. It also had a thing that told you your 0-60 time and right when my speedo said 60 it flashed the time.

For something that just plugs into your cig. lighter i gotta say its pretty damn accurate.

i don tkno much about that system, but my friend has the g tech thing. personally i think it is all a bunch of bullshit, i just dont understand how it tell weight, hp, tq, g's in a corner. all just by pluging it to your ciggerette lighter, jsut does not make sence, for if someone kno and would like to explain it to me i think they are all false, but that is just me

Check this link:

Do Inexpensive Performance Meters Work? (Car & Driver May 2005)

This should be in Tech/Misc or GDD.

I have one of those beltronics version 2 from circuit city for christmas......I never really tested that thing because I was too afraid to run the whole 1/4 mile on the street not knowing a cop maybe around the corner....so Im not sure if its accurate...my buddy tested mine at the track and came out almost the same track time....I think it was a few tenths of a sec off.....I guess its not bad for something thats plugs into the cigerrette lighter
