Default pcv assembly help!

I have a 91 block and I dont have a single peice of the pcv assembly. To save money can I just buy everything on the back side of the block and put a breather on the valve cover? I also have another problem. The longer hose that comes off of the breather box is supposed to connect to the intake manifold. But I am using a type-r manifold with the newer pcv setup. So I already have a hose running from the valve cover to the type-r intake manifold. What should I do?

Am I to understand that your block does not come with Item #1?
If that is the case, it sounds like you will have to use an LS valve cover to facilitate stock PCV system airflow. The LS integras have the inlet from the intake, and the PCV valve ontop of the valve cover which leads to the Plenum of the Intake manifold.

Update us on which block you are using.

EDIT: I am confused, do the newer Type-R valve covers have both the PCV system intake port, and the PCV valve on them?

In other (more lenghty) words: does the tube you have currently connecting your Valve cover to the Intake manifold come from the intake port for the PCV system, or from a PCV valve on top of the valve cover?

Ok, I am using a 91 block and no I dont have #1 or anything. Im also running an ls/vtec setup with a type-r intake manifold. Im just really confused because im trying to mix two different pcv setups, I know i need to get everything on the back side of the block. Im guessing I need to run that breather can (The long hose that comes off of #1) to the type-r intake manifold and just put a mini-breather on the valve cover. Does this sound like it will work fine?

If your block does not have th port for the brether box on the back of the block, then there isn't really much point in getting it.

I suspect that your best (only) option is to purchase (or trade, and then recieve cash) an LS valve cover. With this you do not need the breather box. I would recomend installing a Moroso Catch can setup in it's place though.

Question: Just to confirm, your valve cover (Type-R) right now does NOT have a PCV valve on top. Right?

Thanks.

Assuming your block doesn't have the ports for the VTEC breather tank. Here is what your setup will look like with the LS Valve Cover:

My block does have the port for the breather box so I have to use that pcv setup. Your correct my current valve cover does NOT have a pcv valve. My current pcv valve is on the type-r intake manifold. This is all very confusing but the main problem is: I have to use the breather box setup thats in the picture, but my type-r intake manifold already has a pcv valve. The only idea I have is to remove the type-r pcv valve and hose, then plug up the pcv hole on the manifold. Then I will be able to run the longer hose that comes off the breather box to the manifold where the former pcv hose was connected.
