Passenger side axle popped out
Hey guys, I'm new here, Just picked up my 96 GSR a few days ago.
I was driving around eating up some corners rather quickly, getting to know the car. I came up to a sharpish corner that has a dip in the middle. I downshifted to third and let the clutch out, at the same time I hit the dip and the apex of the corner. The car died to idle and I had NO clutch. No gear would engage either.
Long story short, I managed to somehow separate the pass. side axle from the trans. Is this normal? Obviously I've never seen it happen, I even searched here a little bit but no avail.
The car is slammed, to me, on Eibach Coilovers. the front wheels tuck quite a bit. Could it be a combination of cornering along with suspension compression along with torque from downshifting? I was able to jack the car up and smack the axle back in with a hammer. I even put a prybar on it to see if I could pop it back out and I couldn't. Been driving it all day since.
Any help would be great, Like I said, new to Hondas. I'm coming from domestics (swapped 98 SVT Contour) so this import stuff is all new.
Thanks!

Wtf? How much did it pop out? U just passed the c clip? Was there tranny fluid everywhere? I guess you just undid the c-clip on the end of the axle and it popped out.
Is it a stock GSR? Car wasn't an auto-ls before or anything was it? I have no way of identifying axles, but I guess if you are lowered, then the axle will have a little bit of lateral stress since it has to travel further at an angle, but I'd assume this is negligible.

The axle appears to be oem. It popped out just enough to lose connection with the diff so the car wouldn't move. Maybe a couple inches from the trans. No fluid leaked out.
It's a stock GSR, vin has dc2 in it. not an auto swapped car.
Any way to figure out if this axle is wrong? measurements or what not? I'm afraid of being stuck on the side of the road again.
I'm wondering if the previous owner didn't pop it in all the way, and that's why it popped out. It sure scared me. I thought I blew the clutch!

That would make sense i think. Engine tend to shift to the left while turning right specially turning hard.. I would check all the mounts.. I've never seen this one happen before also and is very uncommon for the axle to be separated from the tranny but is possible. Gud luck
