dude my car is red already nothing wrong with the paint. my engine bay was faded. i wanted to see pics of red cars with black engine bays or cars in general with black engine bays to decide if i wanted to paint it black or suck it up and use the red paint from paint scratch.com to paint the bay. got it

well dont get all bitchy, but i would advise against painting it black, it looks like ****, plus it makes it look like the car has been repainted, thats usually why its done

If you want the job done right, you're gonna have to even if you don't want to. I mean, if you're going to be ok with a half assed looking paint job in the engine bay....then ok. I understand that you may not know how to take everything out, but as they say, "that's how the ball bounces".
Do it right the first time so you'll have no regrets and later think " damn....I shoulda done this, I shoulda done that." Coz then....it's gonna be the "shoulda woulda, coulda, but didn't" situation.

The engine bay is always going to look somewhat faded, because it doesn't have a clearcoat like the outside of the car does. If your car is red now, and you're staying with red when you repaint, I HIGHLY advise leaving the bay red like it is now.
Another problem with black is that it would be harder to spot leaks and such if anything leaked onto the metal.
