Default p75 in ls vtec??

hey i got my lsvtec put togather and i want to time it and get it running right without my turbo on it right now. my problem is though i have 2 ecu's a chipped p28 for boost with 440s, and a stock p75 ls ecu. can i use the p75 to just get the motor running right and timed before i put 440s in? i heard the p75 is the same as p72 gsr ecu just without vtec, and someone else said the timing is different. help!

If I were you, I'd take that p28 and your car to a tuner......have him burn you an lsvtec map on an extra chip and tune your lsvtec from there. Then once you get your turbo and 440's hooked up, then plug in the original chip. I wouldn't run a non vtec ecu on a vtec motor. Does more harm then good.
