Default overheating

Its 90' degrees out side and sometimes it starts to overheat. I have a b18b in my 91 crx s, I it never went in to the red area but it goes above normal. Then I will pull over stop shut the car off and let it sit for a couple mins and start it back up and it is in the same spot then I start to drive and it goes back down to normal and it wont over heat anymore for a while any one have anyidea wwhat the problem is thanks

it goes down when you drive? your thermostat may be stuck open.

add coolant It might help to have details like if it only does it in town, on the highway, etc. Is your fan kicking on?

sometimes overheat the coolant is full and the fan runs all the time it never gets in to the red area on the temp gauge but it gets close i shut it off and pull over let it sit and then i start it back up and it runs fine no overheating at all

are u sure its just not the gauge? have you actually checked if the coolant is bubbling over into the resavour?
