I sent tigerjapanese an email and when they got back with me they didnt answer all my questions it was like they were avoiding them and 450$ seems was to good to be true. Does anyone know of someone that bought from them?
I called up some yards and have had no luck plus their are not many in my area. Its just getn to be a pain cause i know if dont research this well enough and just jump into buying something i will end up getn stuck with a giant piece of sheet

first it the email i sent them then what they sent back, the email i got from tigerjapanese which sounds like they have no clue what the hell they are talking about and seems like they are just tryning to make a quick buck From Me to tiger: I have a some questions about your B20B motors. Whats the difference between the two that are on your site? one is 395 and the other is 450, but they both have the same horespower rating which would mean that they both have the same compression ratio? Does any of them have a knock sensor and what are the dates that are stamped on the block along with the engine code on the block? I was also wondering if you compression test and do a lek down test on your motors, also do you have all open hoses and exposed areas of your motors covered up while they are siting around? I am looking to buy a higher compression B20B 9:6:1. Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you soon. From tigerjapanese: HI
Long manifold is coming out from a CRV, short manifold comes out of a Inntegra.
Long manifold has higher compression, The price is different becuase we don't have too much short manifold .
They are stored in a warehouse no exposure to water.
No they don't have knock sensor, JDM has no knock sensor
Block reads b20b xxxxxx but no date , it is for 97-00

i dont get the whole short manifold thing out of an integra when did they come in an integra? i know if you put one on an integra u need to switch over to the integra manifold amd especially if you are putting it in a Da cause of the obd issues

As far as I kno is that the jdm b20b w/the super long manifold is the one with the high compression ratio....but the other b20b's that come with the smaller manifold...that look like the obd-1 nd 2 LS integra manifolds are the ones that have the lower compression ratio..jus wanted to clear that up if thats the type of info you wanted

Actually its the other way around. First gen B20s are B20Bs with the taller manifold and second gen are B20Z with the higher compression and shorter manifold.
B20s were never found in any integras although they were found in other Hondas in Japan but they were ALL stamped as a B20B. An yes, some B20B's do have the same high compression ratio as a B20Z. These high compression B20B motors came with a knock sensor.

and to the OP, a DA was my first car ever. My friend has a 93 GSR with a B16 swap and all I can say from first hand experience is DON'T DO IT! a B16 in an integra is worthless. Installing a motor with lee torque and less displacement doesn't make sense. If you just want it to have VTEC, do LS/VTEC. You can get a head for $400 and up, parts will run you about another $500 and you'll be much happier. Either that or just buy a GSR swap

44 Pages worth. I personally suggest Import Auto Salvage. You will pay a little more but their motors are mint! Awesome customer service.
