Oiling K&N Filter
Is it possible to over-oil a K&N Filter?
I got a little jiggy with the oil last night and it's not dripping, but I definintely made more than a pass or two.
It leaves oil on my hand when I touch the filter.
Should I clean and re-oil with less oil? or not worry about it?

I know that it says to let it dry for a while after you wash it, but how long do you guys really let it dry for? I don't have a day or two to let it dry, as I am always on the go.
any recomendations?

yes it is possible to over oil the filter.... basically if the filter is dripping oil then you oiled it too much, but as long as no oil is dripping and it is soaked in oil then it should be fine
how often do you guys clean and oil your filters? mines going on 8,000, plus I bought it used and the guy said he put nearly 3,000 on it.....so it has atleast 11,000 on it
I guess I should do it soon, huh?

i'd say if it were a drop in filter then every 12,000 miles would be good..... if you have an external filter like the AEM CAI then cleaning should be done around every 6,000 miles
Thanks for the advice guys. I double checked the filter last night. No runs drips or errors. Nothing oozing, or making it's way up the intake pipe, nothing icky, yucky, OR nasty.
The car seems to be running better, but it looks like my fuel mileage is WAY down.....perhaps I should re-set the ECU ? Maybe coincidence?
