Default Oil pressure switch wiring question

Can anyone tell me if the oil switch on the back of the block goes anywhere other than the light on the gauge cluster? I want to use the existing wiring for a gauge so I don't have to add more junk. I figure I can intercept it before the cluster & hook it to the gauge & replace the OEM switch with the sending unit. EDIT: The car is a 98 GSR.

Thanks,
Frankie
