obd1 or 2?
If I want to put a more modern engine in my '90 Integra, I'll have to update my obd-0. I've already got high impedance injectors and the resistor delete harness.
I've seen kits to go from obd2 to obd1. Is there some reason people would want to down grade? Is there some advantage, or reason someone might prefer obd-1?
Thanks!

To swap in a newer engine you don't necessarily HAVE to "update" your OBD system. You can use your original components with a newer long block and retain your current OBD-0 engine management. OBD1 is the prefered management due simply to the ability to tune the EMS to run the engine optimally, especially if power is the goal. OBD2 is far less capable of customization so people step down to OBD1 for tuning capability.
Yeah, I thought it might be something like that. Thanks!
Although, I'm not sure at this point if I'll go for a JDM, or just rebuild another B18a1. There's lots of pluses and minuses. I wouldn't get much more gain in HP unless I went all the way to a B18C, so it's either go that way, or put a high-end bottom in a b18a1 + cam.
I've only got 169k miles on mine, and it appears I'll have lots of time to decide and do it.
