so i tried to get my car inspected the other week and come to find out my reverse lights don't come on anymore. i don't know how long they've been out or anything, the filaments in the bulbs are still connected, so i'm 95% sure its not the bulbs, none of the fuses under the dash are bad, i pulled out my center counsel (sp?) and nothing under there looks out of the ordinary, and the plug that goes into the transmission appears to be connected all the way. can someone try to help make sense of this? i don't know what else to check. i didn't wanna bring it into the dealership and have them charge me a $90 diagnostic fee, but it looks like thats where it might be heading. someone try to help me out? thanks

Look on the front of the tranny for the reverse light switch plug, should be 2-pin plug with the wires being the same color (grn/blk). Disconnect the plug and put a paper clip on the harness side of the plug, turn key on and put in reverse.
If you got lights, switch is bad.

is it one of the two plugs that're on top of the transmission that you see when you pop the hood, or would i have to jack up my car to get to it from underneath? thanks for the help
