Default nitrous question

will it be safe to run a 35-50 shot on my b18b motor with unorthodox pulleys (including crank pulley) and not have to worry about the oil pump failing?

I would say running up to a 55 shot on a stock motor is safe. Just run some colder plugs. We're both on LI, maybe we know each other

I run 55 shot with only colder plugs. Already run many bottle through and have not had a problem.

running the bottle is as safe as running any other Force induction, but most ppl dont have the right things while running nitrous which most the times end up blowing or damaging their motors! the things u should have while running nitrous is a aftermarket fuel pump/inline fuel pump, better ignition(msd),wires and colder plugs! There is also a lot of saftey options that can be purchase for the nitrous kits like a Microprocessor controlled Air/Fuel ratio switch tat will shut off the nitrous system if it goes lean or rich during a Nitrous run! This is just one of them!http://www.speedshop.org/store...ct=37
i also have friends who has been running nitrous for years and still have a strong motor! that is because there doin it right! I am goin nitrous myself so i had time too look into it! O yeah get a wet system and not a dry! Go wit the 50-75 shot!

Why go with the wet shot instead of dry? Please explain to me. My Zex kit has lasted for 2 years and still going strong.

because the wet system mixes fuel/nitrous more evenly then the dry system does! which equals a better chance of not running dangerous lean! If u have the money get a direct port!

Damn... that had to be one of the best N00b post ever.

I'd also recommend a Remote bottlle opener and a MSD Iginition system where you can retard the timing from inside the car.

Thanx!

and for the clutch i recommend the ACT extreme kit! and as for the flywheel i hear good things bout the toda! I have a act 6 puck myself w/ a exedy pressure plate for road racing application and i aint too happy wit it and goin to go wit the extreme myself and i also have a CM flywheel and all i can say is it gets the job done!

Nitrous is ricer's only solution to running anything under 13s...Its pathetic how with only spending $6k, I can run hi 13s, give me $10k I will run 10s for cheaper than rice.

what the hell are you talking about? I'm not sure if you are ******* your own car or what.

If you are wanting a cheap and fast alternative to boost, Nitrous is the way to go. However a complete and advanced setup can end up costing a pretty penny.

In what the 1/8th or 16th of mile?

I dunno what the hell you are putting on your car either, but 1500 bux to run 12s all motor is nearly impossible. Toda Spec Bs cost about 900-100 bux and those prolly wont even let you see 13s unless you have an exhaust.

Hell Toda VTEC killers cost about 1500 bux and you prolly make your car slower installing them unless you ran sport injection manifold + other goodies. So that's like 4-5K there. Hoping to see a High 12 or low 13.

1500 bux all motor 12s in the 1320. Bwhahaha if that was the case. I think all of us would be in the 12s. Full interior, AC, and Passenger.

<-- used to run a 75 shot on GSR with i/h/e. everything else ... BONE STOCK

no need for aftermarket clucth!, igniton sysems!, or internal work.

the used NOS kit cost me 400... and it got me 13s.... (easy!)...
