Default Nitrous Question!

I plan on doing nitrous eventually. The issue is I spun a bearing, so Im looking to replace the block. Since I'm planning on doing nitrous later would it be better for me to use a Ls/vtec setup or a B18C1/B16head setup? I plan on running the most I can reliably on a stock internal setup for now. If anyone can tell me the difference in shots I should be able to run reliably as well that'd be great. I tried searching but i keep coming up with random numbers people posted and they kept going off topic. Also whats the redline difference between the 2 if I only do ARP headstuds.

You spun a bearing and you still want to do nitrous?

You bump your post after two hours in the early morning?

Priceless!

Either motor would work and either motor would take a wet 75 shot no problem. If you go lsvtec run arp rod bolts and then you can rev either motor to the same rpm. Pulling a little timing out when the nitrous is spraying would be a good idea just to keep it safe. Sounds like your new to this, so maybe you should do more research first and or find a person who has experience to help you. Good luck!

Thanks, I have the jacobs mastermind controller for retarding the timing on switch electronically, and also just learned about the blocks being pretty much the same just the rod bolts making the difference really. So I can only run 75 shot reliably? No more? Cause I wanna run as much as I can safely. I was told 75 shot was alright for b20/vtec, and was hoping more can be put on a LS/GSR bottom since they got thicker sleeves no?

i think the more realiable build would be just a non vtec LS or a full vtec, lsvtec brings complications

Sleeves aren't the issue for more nitrous on a stock bottom end its going to be ring landings that go first

I disagree, as long as its been built properly and no shortcuts have been taken it will be as good as any other reliable motor. I've seen some youtube videos of some ls/vtecs doing 11 and 12 seconds on quarter mile. Just wanted to confirm what type of shot it took them to get to those speeds.
