Default next mod??

OK I have already installed an AEM CAI on my 97 ls. This weekend I will be installing stiffer sway bars front and back as well as a DC 4-2-1 header and Greddy Evo catback. I have a slight (1.5 inch) drop and just bought some new Nitto tires. Just replaced the plugs and the fuel filter and will probably replace the timing belt soon as I am coming up on 90K miles. What should I purchase next as far as performance mods to give my baby some more umphff? Since I will be replacing the Timing belt soon anyhow would this be a good time to do cam gears?? Also I would like to know about how to go about adjusting cam gears to the correct position (anyway to know without a dyno?) anybody have any imput as to what my next mod should be??? I plan on going the N/A route.

thanks

Cam settings are different on all cars. So dont waste time with that. Take off the power steering and get a Type R throttle body and port match.

This is where you should decide where you want to go with your car.. if N/A, then get some good cam gears/cams/vafc/tuning.. if FI, save for a turbo kit.

If you absolutely have to spend some money, go with suspension or brake accessories.. you cant go wrong with your car's handling

comptechgsr2000,

port match the throttle body...? I know the inner diameter is a different size than my ls one, but what does port matching it do (stupid question? ) ? does it bolt up right on????

Thanks~~

Any other ideas? what about a new intake manifold like the skunt 2? what are the pros/cons? i have heard that this setup can cause a pretty healthy drop in low end Tq.

Get a short shifter. I think my short shifter is the best mod i ever got! Or, save your money and get a VTEC head.

Is a Vtec Head really worth the investment?? I mean, Its gonna cost me at least $1000 bucks right? and I would need to get a new ECU. new intake manifold and it snowballs..... for all the time and money I put into something like that, couldn't I just put that into Cams or something???

Ya you could, but you wont see the power of VTEC from cams. Save your money and buy a GSR or get a turbo if you wanna go fast. Those are the only ways for LS to become fast!

It still baffles me that this whole post no one recomended a highflow cat.

With just I/H/E, your H/E are not providing the full gains that they could be. The cat is acting as a bottleneck and you are losing performance. The exhaust works as a system, not three individual parts. In order for the exhaust system to work to full potential, all parts from it need to work together properly.

Aftermarket header and exhaust with a stock cat is . If you are going to spend a grand on exhaust and header, why not remove the cat bottleneck for $200?

Those are the only ways for LS to become fast!
No

catalytic converter, skunk 2 intake manifold, cams, lighter wheels, pistons, rods are all ideas. If your going N/A, you will want higher compression... oh, you might wanna consider a gsr or civic si tranny
