Newb here.
I was posting in the Type-R forum but was advised to post over here. I am currently thinking about purchasing a teg GS-R to replace my '98 2.5TL.
Couple quick questions (I would search but I am at work and don't have time):
What kind of power am I looking at with the normal bolt-ons (exhaust, headers, ect), and how well does the GS-R handle with the mods?
Also, do you think it is possible to find a GS-R with the JDM front end conversion for under $10k? I really don't care for the stock headlights.
I am basically looking for a good cruiser, that can get up and go, as well as handle well when I take it to a track (no 1/4). No rice either..just something nice and clean.
Thanks ahead of time.

First, I like your goals
Second, yes you could probably find a GSR with a JDM front, its pretty common. However, someone that is selling one might be more difficult. But if you look around hard enough you'll find one im sure (auto trader, honda-tech classifieds, team-integra.net classifieds just to name a few).
In stock trim they handle pretty well. If you want really good handling then a nice suspension setup, lsd, sway bars, etc will get you to a very good riding GSR. It would make for a very good autocross car...
As far as power goes. GSR's usually dyno around 145whp +/- a few. I mean obviously it depends on the condition of the motor and if its a freak motor or not. Looking at low to mid 15's in the 1/4 mile stock form depending on your driving skills.
With simple bolt-ons your looking at around 150whp range. Depending on the mods you get. And how much you spend on them (high quality or ****...). Its tough to say exactly but its very possible to get a GSR to around 200whp NA if built correctly. I've seen some with more power but those are with some very well built setups. It all depends on your pocket basically......

When I was looking for my GSR, I found a guy who had a turbo GSR with JDM front, and the whole nine yards, he only wanted 9K, but I declined on the offer because just so much had been done to the car. There was a guy in Lakewood selling a red Integra with JDM front and Type R five lug conversion. You just gotta look around. People have to sell cars for reasons so sometimes you can come up on something really good because the seller is going through a divorce, or is expecting a baby, or is just a really bad gambler who has a bookie on his ***. Either way just excercise some patience and the right car will come your way.
Sweet. I am definitely going to mod with good parts, not cheap-*** eBay crap cause thats just trouble.
I am getting pretty excited about this, and if I mod it correctly, I would love to get around 200whp N/A.
Eventually, if my money situation is OK and I still like the Teg, I might try forced induction.
Only time will tell..

I totally agree. Ask Patdemps about his setup, if I am not correct I believe he made 190whp with his all-motor setup, and he had quite a bit he could've gone with, especially in the cam department, I believe he was using ITR cams. Shamong, that is on the way to Atco I believe. You probably aren't too far away from me. I live in the Long Beach Island area.
ITR sway bar. I absolutely can not recommend it enough.
For a great coilover setup go with Ground Control coilovers matched with either KYB AGX or, preferably, Koni Yellows. They're incredible.
It will also allow you to change out spring rates, change ride height, change shock settings, revalve shocks with stiffer springs, etc etc etc..

Well, I live in the sticks of NJ so theft isn't exactly a problem. But, I will get security because you never know..
