Icon2 Need Help with a Setup

I'm looking to refinish my Second gen and she's solid right now but I want more lol. She currently has a rebuilt all motor LS with everything modified other than fuel. Its nice but I'm bored and want to take everything a step further.

I stopped driving the car almost a year ago because I picked up an 08 Civic. Thats just the daily driver. I want my street racer.

I need help because I've lost touch with the Honda game and was hoping you guys could help me out. In your best opinions, and I'm open to all of them, I'm looking for the best engine setup that would be good for street and track.

I'm talking about anything from turboed LS to anything as far as B20 LS/Vtec that could be All-Motor or Force Inducted.

Its your call....help me out?

I did the b-16 swap on my 91 and i love the power on top end. v-tec is an awesome difference. but botom end sucks! i'm told that b-16 head on b-18 (ls v-tec) is the best balance of bottom end power and high rpm power of v-tec. turbos are the best way to get easy power IF you have the right tune! i however know nothing about burning chips nor do i know anyone so im gonna stick to all motor power. plus destroying 5 liter mustangs with a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder is fun to rub in

I just lately placed a b20z in my da, its got some good power. but kinda weak on the top end but nothing that a few upgrades can do...well what kinda power do u want? And also what is your driving style? do u like to tach the motor out or do u rev low and power to the next gear. Theres alot of factors that matter with what you wanna do but...i would suggest...get yourself a b20b, b16 head, golden eagle b20 vtec kit, and a pr3 ecu with a chip for the skunk 2 1.8 program...try that you then work your way from there. you'll have the power and a little taste of torque...make sure that you have a good trans also...preferable a b16 cable...if you cant find that get a GSR hyrdo but your going to have to get a cable to hydro conversion. Good luck man, Just pm me if you need parts.

I couldn't agree more bro. The feeling of pulling away from some dude in his dime a dozen mustang is wonderful. Don't get my wrong, a stang is a great car but its as typical as seeing civics.

True i had been thinkin about the b20/vtec setup for a while when I first parked my DA. I haven't really been focusing on it because of money but I've gotta start getting my planning done so that when I do get the money I know exactly what I'm getting. I hear a lot of talk about the b16 tranny. I guess if i go vtec short gears won't bother me. My driving style doesn't really involve revving the motor out. As an ex: my current LS motor was typically revved JUST over 6000 rpms with a redline of 7000. I like to get up there but within reason. What kinda parts were you talkin that you have?

The h22 would be a great idea but i'm using a 2nd gen integra. I don't want to have to do a lot of fabricating to get the motor to fit. I could just bore out a b20 and get the extra .2 litres that way. Than again i've never really heard to many people talk of an h22 in a DA teg so maybe it isn't as hard as I think it is

If you want to build a motor ls vtec is the best motor to build hands down. If you want more power, then build it for turbo.

if you have the money and time you could always do a k-swap, if you're willing to attempt it yourself, just do your homework, or find a good shop and prepare to fork over more cash. plenty of fun comes out of a K!
