Brakes Grab Hard
Alright I got a 95 Integra LS. I have had horrible brake problems with this car since I got it...most of them I think I took care of....but I got one that just puzzles me...and now that my car is commuted 80 miles a day to work...I wanna get it taken care of...
If I had been driving the car for about 5 minutes without touching the brake, then if I lightly step on the brake...The brakes grab real hard...then let off to about where they should be for the amount of pressure I am applying to the pedal.
I have Bled the brakes many times- No difference
Here is everything that has been done within the last year-
New Master Cylinder
New rear calipers and pads
New Rotors all around.
New front pads.

Re: Brakes Grab Hard
Perhaps a dumb question but you never know... Is the Check valve installed correctly? And who installed the Master Cyl? There are steps involved to a correct installation.

Re: Brakes Grab Hard
^^if it were a backwards check valve, that would have the opposite effect. practically no brakes
my guess is either proportioning valve, or the master you got is crap

Re: Brakes Grab Hard
Sounds like a brake booster problem..A lot of times when people are bleeding their brakes they damage the booster by applying to much pressure. You should only need to press the pedal in about 80-90% when bleeding. Otherwise you can over extended your booster.

Re: Brakes Grab Hard
still a dying booster gives you a hard pedal, not super sonic brakes
any chance the rotors are warped? if so they can feel really grabby since the second the pads contact the rotor they hit a high spot and grab

Re: Brakes Grab Hard
the rotors are slightly warped, nothing u would notice unless you were feeling for the vibration intentionally, i was thinking the booster also because i know if your MC leaks long enough and it gets brake fluid down inside the booster it can do all kinds of nasty things...
I am planning on complete maint. of the car within the next few months, Timing belt is due, Cam seals are leaking, VC is leaking oil and clutch is shot, so within that time i will prob. mess around with it some more and see what i can find.
